« C.E.T. L’Ecoute » : Educational Center for sorting

In 2001, L’Ecoute NGO launched a start-up aiming at recycling paper in order to contribute to a better environment.

At the beginning, only a few kilos of paper were collected every month.
One ton of paper was far from being our goal!
However, with time, many people found interest in this ever-growing project.
The waste collection was no longer limited to paper. We started accepting all kinds of material with recycling potential, namely aluminum, plastic, appliances and even computer equipment for our e-waste project to retrieve elements such as copper and metal.
The small start-up that originated in 2001 grew to the extent that we had to rent a warehouse in 2014 to be able to cater to the need of colleagues, whether corporate or individuals.

Employment priority at L’Ecoute was given to the people who were socially excluded thus recycling human energy!
This is how our expertise in the field of solid waste management - Collection / Sorting / Recycling - silently developed.

In July 2015, following the Lebanon waste crisis, L’Ecoute was labelled among the top experts in the field of waste management.
Our storage facilities were limited and we could not meet the huge demands. We decided to share our knowhow with many municipalities searching for solutions. It was a successful civic contribution.
Today, in 2020, L’Ecoute is ranked among the most developed waste management centers in the country, offering multi-purpose services to the recycling world.

Our activities are not only limited to collection, sorting, recycling, etc... :

  • We contributed in knowledge sharing and in raising civic awareness through more than 200 campaigns, targeting over 500,000 students in 200+ schools and 7 universities.
  • We coordinated awareness campaigns with many municipalities and around 3000 companies, banks, ministries and other entities that became our partners throughout the Lebanese territory.
  • Our exploratory journey in the Lebanese market led us, in 2015, to the launching of our upcycling workshop where we create a variety of unique artworks exclusively made out of recovered material. All these objects are designed and produced by volunteers and exhibited at various prestigious art hubs in the country.

Be a part of our environmental citizenship project!

Mission:

  • Ensure large-scale sorting to meet with exponential demand
  • Educating Youth in the spirit of citizenship
